What gets applicants rejected here
- One page (two only after 10+ years).
- No photo, no date of birth, no marital status, no nationality.
- Call it a résumé. Reverse-chronological. Every bullet is verb + result + number.
- US spelling. No "References available on request".
- Mention work authorization only if the posting asks.
Questions
Do I need a one-page résumé for the US?
Yes, unless you have more than ten years of experience. Recruiters and applicant tracking systems expect one page.
Should I include my nationality or visa status?
Only if the posting asks for work authorization. Otherwise leave it off; it invites bias and is not required.
Is "CV" wrong in the US?
In the US a CV is an academic document. For almost every job, the word is résumé.
