What gets applicants rejected here

  1. Photo, nationality, date of birth and current location are expected at the top.
  2. Visa status and notice period, stated plainly.
  3. Two pages, reverse-chronological, keyword-heavy: Gulf ATS matches the posting literally.
  4. Arabic language level, even if the job is in English.
  5. Driving licence if relevant; references commonly listed.

Questions

Why does a Gulf CV need a photo when a UK one must not?

Different norms. Gulf employers expect to see nationality, photo and location to plan visas and relocation. Leaving them off reads as "expensive to hire".

What is the notice period line?

How soon you can start: "Available immediately" or "Notice period: 30 days". It is one of the first things Gulf recruiters filter on.

Do I need to be in the country already?

No, but say where you are and whether you need visa sponsorship. Candidates already on a transferable visa are prioritised, so state it if you have one.
